About Springwood Studios
Springwood Studios is a pair of self-contained studio apartments in a wooded valley between Hebden Bridge and Hardcastle Crags in West Yorkshire. We converted the building to create two peaceful spaces for guests who want a quiet base within walking distance of town and trails.
The building
The building at Fernhill started life as a professional photography studio. Steve Morgan ran his industrial and corporate photography business from here for many years, working on commissions across the UK and internationally. The large windows and natural light that made it perfect for a photography studio now fill both apartments with valley views and woodland light. We converted the space to create two self-contained studios that retain the character of the original building while working well for modern self-catering stays.
Who we are
We're Heather and Steve Morgan. Heather manages the studios day-to-day and is your main contact for bookings and any questions during your stay. Steve is a professional photographer who ran his photography business from this building for over 25 years before we converted it to guest accommodation.
We've lived in Hebden Bridge for many years and know the area well. We walk into town most days along the riverside path and never quite get over how lucky we are to live in this valley. Hosting guests at Springwood lets us share the walks, woods and local area that we enjoy ourselves, particularly with people who appreciate quiet places and spending time outdoors.
